You don’t need any special qualifications to be one. You have be passionate about a subject that can help people to improve their lives. There is no specific academic qualification required.

It is a 5-days course offered by Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC) to equip people with the basic skills a trainer needs. It will qualify the holder of the cert to claim from the fund that has been contributed by corporations.

HRDC is a government agency under the Ministry of Human Resource whose function is to upskill and ensure life-long learning for the Malaysian workforce. To achieve that, it imposes a levy on companies in the country that can be used for training purposes.

There are many benefits and some of them include personal development, an opportunity to impact people’s lives, earning a decent income and sharing your passion with others.

In the TTT course, you will learn basic knowledge to get started as a trainer. The topics include adult learning, training needs analysis (TNA), creating and delivering content, evaluating learning.

It will equip you with the basic skills like handling adult learners, designing content and delivery techniques.

It’s RM2,500. This covers certification, assessment, food, materials.

Yes, there is a knowledge-based online assessment (MCQ) and you have to do a short presentation at the end of the course.  Both of these will add up to qualify you for the cert.

You can apply for exemption from the TTT is you meet the criteria. There are a few ways, but generally, those with training experience (for specific number of years), VTO, Professors, and some certain degrees related to training and development. You can check on the website www.hrdcorp.gov.my or call their hotline 1800884800.

There is no specific figure of the amount you can make as a trainer. However, in Malaysia, trainers earn between RM1,000 to RM6,000 per day.

Yes, you have to record a video of you doing training (online or f2f) and provide it to HRDC for assessment. You can still start training after you going through the course but you will have to provide the recording within one year.

If you are doing in-house (directly for the company that engages you), you can claim RM6,000 per day for face to face training. For online, it is RM700 per pax for 7 hours. As for public face-to-face training, you can charge up to RM1,300 per pax per day. For this you have to go under an HRDC-registered training provider company.

Yes, you can. You will need to register a company in ROB providing training services and then apply for registration. There will be an annual fee of RM1,000 payable.
